Saturday Stroll on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 2:00 p.m.
Prince William Street in Fact and Folklore.
No city street has as many stories as Prince William. The city’s first newspaper was founded on the street, Canada’s first bank was too, and the street has a coffee house long before Tim Horton’s came to town. The street is said to have underground tunnels connecting buildings, and some women claim one of the city’s most eligible bachelors of 1884 still winks at them as they pass by Chubb’s Corner. Come and wonder why the devil is spitting out coins, learn who won a radiator sitting contest when Saint John High opened, and what building was once sold for two wheelbarrows of Mexican dollars at Lazy Man’s Corner.
The fee is $10.00. If wet, call 506 672 8601 after 1:00 p.m.
